TEHRAN -- Twenty-five pages of a full color version of the Holy Quran were unveiled at the 20th International Holy Quran Exhibition at Tehran’s Imam Khomeini Mosalla on Thursday.
“The Holy Quran refers to various colors in nine verses. This fact inspired me to design this version,” the designer of the full color Quran, Mostafa Besharatmand, told the Persian service of IRNA.
Every page of the version, which has the dimensions of 100x70 centimeters, will be designed in one color, he said.
This colorful design appeals to everybody especially young children and schoolchildren, he added.
Besharatmand said that it takes him one day to design a page of the Quran and said that it will be completed next year.
“I put these pages on display at this exhibition to receive some feedback from artists and experts on the Holy Quran for the rest of the pages,” he stated.
After completion, he plans to donate the full color Quran to the Astan-e Qods Razavi Library and Museum in Mashhad.
“Publishing companies can also print it in various dimensions,” Besharatmand said.
